If I were a cake-maker…

A Cake Topper A Cake Topper

If I were a cake-maker, I would bake cakes for my customers…all of them.

I, a deeply devoted follower of Jesus Christ, would bake the most excellent cake that I could create for my homosexual, transgender, lesbian, gay, heterosexual, cohabiting, alcoholic, drug-addicted, sex-addicted, pornographic, repeat offending, felonious, gang-banging, breathing out murderous threats, cheating, lying, judgmental, covetous, bitter, unforgiving, unkind, stealing, adulterous, hypocritical, lusting, strung-out, prostituting, angry, F-bomb dropping clients that I could.

I would bake a magnificent cake because I follow Christ.

Christ frequently ate with “sinners”.

His disciples included a thief.

“But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!”

Holman Christian Standard Bible Romans 5:8 (emphasis mine).
Christ died before we turned away from our sin.

Why are Christians expecting an “unbelieving world” to BEHAVE  according to the standards that they adhere to?

Why are self-proclaimed “Christ-followers” demanding more of others than Christ demanded of them?  Christ died for you while you were STILL A SINNER.

Brothers and sisters, in the name of Jesus Christ,

“And walk in love, as the Messiah also loved us and gave Himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.”

Holman Christian Standard Bible  Ephesians 5:2.

Whether or not I agree with the choices made by others, I am still called to love them.

Whether or not I am uncomfortable, I am still called to love them.

I am blessed with freedom in this country to give my opinion and state my belief, but I am also charged by my Savior Jesus Christ to love as I have been loved.

Forgive me, world, for failing to give my life in your place.

Beloved, be loved.

Then be love.

Love,

Gracie K.
